Line Height Leave the default value of inherit to inherit this value from the parent element. Alternatively, select the required value from the drop-down list (the height can be selected as either pixels or points).
Text Wrap Choose Wrap or No Wrap, as required.  Note that if you choose to render the signature as a bitmap (rather than the default HTML), text wrapping will not be applied unless size properties are set for a fixed width.

Background

Background properties are used to define what (if any) background is applied for this field:

None No background applies for the text field.
Color Use the color picker to select a background color.
Image  Select this option and click Upload Image to choose a background image for the text field. When you choose to apply a background image, the entire signature must be rendered (and applied) as a bitmap image - not HTML. A warning to this effect is displayed:

If you wish to proceed, click Yes to confirm.

Visibility

text_properties_-_visibility.png

Visibility properties are used to determine the circumstances under which this field should/should not be displayed:

Always visible The default setting is to always display the field.
Hidden if this field is empty  You can choose to hide this field if a (selected) user attribute is empty
Auto-hiding separator This option is only applicable for elements where multiple fields are defined on a single line, separated by a character (such as a comma or a pipe), and you wish to hide separators if no user data is present. For an example, please click here.

Alignment

text_properties_-_alignment.png

Alignment properties are used to determine horizontal and vertical alignment of the text:

Text Determines alignment of the text within the field - choose LeftCenter, RightJustify or Inherit.
Horizontal Determines alignment of the field within the signature  - choose LeftCenter, RightJustify or Stretch

For example:

Here, the Horizontal alignment is set to Center, so the text field is centered within the signature, but the Text alignment is set to Left, so the text within the field is left aligned.

Border

Border properties are used to define borders for the field:

All  Select a border type, size and color and ensure that the All the same check box is ticked. These settings will be applied for all borders (left, right, top and bottom). This is the default setting (by default, no border is applied because the border size is set to 0).
Left / Right /
Top / Bottom
Ensure that the All the same check box is not ticked and define individual border properties as required.

Padding

text_properties_-_padding.png

Padding properties are used to add spacing for this field:

All The default setting is for there to be no padding - i.e. LeftRightTop and Bottom are set to and the All the same check box is selected.
Left / Right /
Top / Bottom
Ensure that the All the same check box is not ticked and define individual padding properties as required. For further information, see Adding spacing between elements in your signature.

Size

text_properties_-_size.png

Size properties are used to define the size allowed for this field:

Width  Leave the default value of auto to allow this field to adjust its width, depending on the size of the message viewer. Alternatively, specify an exact width (in pixels or points).
Height Leave the default value of auto to allow this field to adjust its height, depending on the size of the message viewer. Alternatively, specify an exact width (in pixels or points).

Render

text_properties_-_render.png

Render properties are used to determine how the signature is rendered in messages:

Normal The default setting renders the signature as HTML.
Bitmap Render the signature as a Bitmap image. In this case, any externally linked images will be embedded in the signature and text will not wrap unless the width of the field is fixed (i.e. not set to auto). A warning to this effect is displayed:
