In some rare cases, special and/or accented characters may not be displayed as expected when the message is received, after a signature is appended.
The most likely cause is that the character set in Microsoft Outlook is not set to send outgoing messages in Unicode (UTF-8).
Configure the character set in Microsoft Outlook to send outgoing messages in Unicode (UTF-8). To do this:
- In Microsoft Outlook, select File > Options.
- Within Outlook Options, click the Advanced section (on the left-hand side).
- Under the heading International options, ensure that Automatically select encoding for outgoing messages is set to Unicode (UTF-8).
- Click OK to save changes.
